I wish that I had a nickel for each time I've been asked for the
"exact" colors I used in an embroidery design or for a
conversion chart for specific embroidery thread brands - I would
be a very wealthy woman! Everyone seems to think that someone is
going to knock on their door with a search warrant if they don't
use the exact colors a designer used in the test sew out or the
color numbers used in the stitch directions. Not so - if you don't
"think outside the box" and use colors that you enjoy, or just
prefer, you are really missing the real fun of machine
embroidery! Come to think of it, I don't believe that I've ever
used the exact color on any design I've ever stitched in 6+
years-some because I didn't have the exact color & others due
to a dislike of the colors used.
Here are some tips to get good results with your embroidery

I have some tips for you to get better results with using your

Sometimes it's hard to imagine that the stars who shine so
brightly on cinematic screens are people just like the rest of
us. We often think that their lives are so much more interesting
and exciting than our own and that we have little or nothing in
common with the Hollywood crowd.
"Well how are you really enjoying your retirement?" I asked out
of interest, "it was great to start with" he said, but lately,
I've just become kind of lost..
It's important to understand where antiques originate. Many
antique buyers make the mistake of mis-understanding the process
by which antique items are found.
Many dealers and auctioneers have been bringing container loads
of antiques from Europe for years now. The lure of getting "fresh
to the market" antique furniture and "smalls" is something that
can bring renewed excitement back into your antique business.
What can increase your sales volume and make you more productive
day in and day out? You've probably heard this three word
statement that separates those who wish they could do better, from
those who really do. Knowledge is power! This three word statement
is more than just a great philosophy.
The easiest way is to start right from the beginning, your
pregnancy. Chronological order is an easy way to organize your
photos, that's if you remembered to write all the dates down.
Have you ever read a comic book before? I imagine just about
everyone, at some time in their life, has read at least one comic
book. But do your interests and enjoyment level go beyond that?
You may have said to yourself, at sometime or another, I would
like to start a comic book collection some day.
If you want to keep your comic book collection in tiptop shape,
comic book supplies will become part of your collecting life. As
soon as a magazine is printed there are natural environmental
forces going to work to try and destroy the ink and the paper.
Just before the advent of the Great Depression, more than a
hundred companies manufactured glassware in the United States. At
the end of the Depression, fewer than fifty percent of these
companies remained in business.
Depression Glass - The Rare Pieces. Did you know that if you happen
to have a crystal (clear) and pink Depression Glass refrigerator
bowl in the Crisscross pattern in good condition and with its
original cover, that it's valued at between $300 and $335? Or
that Shirley Temple cream pitcher your grandmother keeps in the
back of her upper cabinet could bring up to $1,250 at auction? If
you didn't, then you've been in the dark about rare Depression
Glass pieces and their values! Here are a few pieces for which
knowledgeable Depression Glass collectors stay on constant
lookout: The Ruby Red Aladdin Beehive Lamp. Made for only six months
during 1937, this lamp currently brings anywhere from $700 to
$950 - if it can be found! Most collectors owning this piece
understandably do not have any interest in letting go of it,
which makes it even rarer. The color of the glass in the Aladdin
series of ruby lamps varies from a light red with an amber tint
to dark, rich red, with the deeper reds fetching more interest
with today's collectors.
Why waste everyone's time? Let's skip the appetizers and get to
the meaty stuff right now: The Morgan silver dollars poised to
increase the most in value in the years ahead are the 1895,
1892-CC, 1894, 1878-CC, and the 1883-CC. Pretty bold prediction,
eh? At this point, the reader now has three options: (1) Stop
reading and act upon this information, (2) Stop reading and get
on with life, or (3) Continue on, evaluate the analytical
approach to identify the "Top Five" Morgan dollars, and then
implement a variation of (1) or (2) above.
How To Clean A Silk Bouquet. A Silk bouquet can last a lot longer
than a bouquet made of real flowers, but it will still droop, and
get dusty, over time. Fortunately a little bit of preventive care
can go a long way towards keeping your bouquet looking like new.
